The cornerstone of therapy is that discussions between a therapist and client are confidential and private. This means that anything that is said in therapy is protected under Florida law, and may not be revealed to a third party without written authorization from you. However, as a mandated reporter for the state of Florida, I am legally bound to disclose information in certain cases, with possible exceptions to confidentiality.
