AGREEMENT FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMISSION FOR CONTROLLING THE DESERT LOCUST IN NORTH-WEST AFRICAMay 31st, 2012
At the request of interested Member Nations in North-West Africa, a draft agreement for the establishment of a commission for controlling the desert locust in that area, within the framework of FAO, was prepared by the Organization. The Agreement was reviewed in March 1970 by the FAO North-West African Desert Locust Research and Control Coordination Sub-Committee. The Agreement was approved by the FAO Council at its Fifty- fifth Session (November 1970) and submitted to Member Nations for acceptance.
