This agreement with Preference Personnel will be a trial, or pilot program, to explore whether we can create a viable and affordable partnership with this agency that will assist us in narrowing the staffing gaps that we experience daily in Special Education support roles. Should we find success in this effort, we may also consider partnering with Preference Personnel in other support staffing areas in the district where we experience difficulty in recruiting and retaining personnel. Our difficulties in these areas are directly due to the tight labor market, particularly in skilled and semi-skilled labor in our metropolitan area. It is our hope that such partnerships can be beneficial to the district in the future in terms of meeting our staffing demand on a reasonably cost effective basis. The anticipated cost for support staff replacement services is $17.49 per hour. This will include benefits, such as social security tax, workers compensation and unemployment related expenditures. C
