At the May 17, 2018 meeting, the Insurance Committee voted unanimously to recommend moving the administrative services for the employee Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Dependent Care Accounts (DCA), Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA) to Medical Cost Containment Services (Medcom). A market analysis was performed by the Bailey Group, MFB, Inc., which included quotes from nine vendors, including the incumbent, Ameriflex. The 1/1/2019 premium quoted by the incumbent was $5.00 per participant per month for the administration of each, FSA, DCA and HRA. Based on today’s census the estimated monthly cost would be $6,855 monthly, or $82,260 annually. Medcom, the number one ranked firm, provided a quote of $4.00 per participant per month for the same account services and included a rate guarantee through January 1, 2022.
