To clarify roles, definitions, and procedures for working together to support students in foster care, we agree to abide by the Joint Guidance on Ensuring the Educational Stability of Children in Foster Care issued by the Alaska Department of Education & Early Development and Office of Children’s Services. In doing so we demonstrate our fulfillment of provisions of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 and the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act of 2008.
