The DDA acknowledges the importance of marketing and promoting the downtown as a regional destination. Indeed, over the years, downtown Royal Oak has earned a strong reputation as being one of southeast Michigan’s entertainment, dining, and shopping destinations. However, with the rise of popularity of other neighboring downtowns, and the resurgence of downtown Detroit as a center of popular amenities, it has become clear that supply is well-overtaking demand in the region. Consequently, the members of the business marketing committee acknowledge the importance of stimulating further demand in the market with innovative and creative marketing content.
