MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDINGDecember 7th, 2007
Pursuant to the provisions of the Employee Relations Ordinance of the City and applicable State law, Local 347, Service Employees International Union, AFL-CIO, was certified on September 6, 1972, by the Employee Relations Board as the certified representative of City employees in the Safety/Security Unit (hereinafter referred to as "Unit") previously found to be appropriate by the said Employee Relations Board. Management hereby recognizes Local 347, SEIU, AFL-CIO, as the exclusive representative of the employees in said Unit, in accordance with the provisions of Section 4.822 of the Administrative Code. The term "employee" as used herein, shall refer only to employees employed by the City in the employee classifications listed in the Appendices herein, as well as such classes as may be added hereafter by the Employee Relations Board.

On May 3, 1973, Local 347, Service Employees International Union (SEIU), AFL-CIO, was certified by the Employee Relations Board (hereinafter "ERB") as the majority representative of employees in the Service and Crafts Representation Unit (hereinafter "Unit"). Accordingly, Management recognizes Local 347, SEIU, AFL-CIO (hereinafter "Union"), as the exclusive representative of the employees in said Unit.
