XML based configuration Sample Clauses
XML based configuration. The use of XML (Extensible Markup Language) based configuration allows the functionality of the management protocol to closely mirror the native functionality of the Network Element. The structured and self-documenting nature of the XML language also makes the development of client applications easier, reducing implementation costs. Different XML enabled protocols may be used for different cases such as the Network Configuration Protocol (NETCONF) RFC 6241 [RFC6241] or the Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) [SOAP]. If security is desired, the Transport Layer Security (TLS) defined in RFC 5246 [RFC5246] or Secure Shell (SSH) RFC 4251 [RFC4251] may also be used.
