WORK ASSIGNMENT AND OVERLOAD. 5.1 A full-time faculty member’s academic work year shall be one hundred sixty-four (164) days within a consecutive nine (9) months, one-week period inclusive of registration, orientation, workshops, instruction, examinations, advisement and commencement. At such time as instructional overloads are implemented as determined by the College, compensation will be based on faculty rank.
5.2 All professional staff appointed to nine (9) month and one-week positions will work one hundred sixty-four (164) days. Professional staff with nine month and one-week positions can elect to be paid in either twenty (20) equal biweekly pay periods, concluding at the end of the academic year, or twenty-six (26) equal biweekly pay periods per fiscal year. Non- teaching professional staff members appointed to ten-month positions will work two hundred twenty-one (221) days. Non-teaching professional staff with ten-month positions will be paid in twenty-six (26) equal biweekly payments and will have thirty (30) days unpaid vacation and ten (10) days of unpaid holidays per contract year. Non-teaching professional staff appointed to twelve-month positions will work two hundred sixty-one (261) days. Non-teaching professional staff with twelve-month positions will be paid in twenty-six (26) equal biweekly payments and will have thirty (30) days paid vacation and ten (10) days of paid holidays per contract year. All professional staff will be paid on a per diem basis for each additional day worked beyond their contract year. Per diem rates will be determined for each professional staff member by dividing his/her annual salary by the number of days in his/her contract year. The hours of the non-teaching professional’s normal work week will be established with the College and reviewed and changed as appropriate.
5.3 Without overload compensation, a full-time teaching assignment shall not exceed thirty
