Wellness Breaks Sample Clauses

The Wellness Breaks clause establishes the right for individuals to take short, scheduled breaks during work or events to attend to their personal well-being. Typically, this clause outlines the frequency and duration of such breaks, such as allowing a 10-minute pause every few hours, and may specify acceptable activities like stretching, hydration, or brief walks. Its core function is to promote health and productivity by ensuring participants have regular opportunities to rest and recharge, thereby reducing fatigue and supporting overall wellness.
Wellness Breaks. Wellness breaks shall be taken in a manner that does not interfere with the efficiency of the work unit. Employees may take a paid wellness break of not more than fifteen (15) minutes up to twice a day and not to be used to cover an employee’s late arrival to work, early departure, or to extend an unpaid lunch break. However, special considerations will be given by the supervisor to accommodate the late arrival or an extended lunch due to attending a fitness class/session. Denial of such requests must be provided in writing to the employee and copied to the Head of Human Resources or designee.
