Water Testing Methods Clause Samples

Water Testing Methods. The CDC’s Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) states that microbiological testing equipment and methods shall be EPA-approved. They should also conform to the American Public Health Association’s (APHA) Standard Methods or be listed under the National Sanitation Foundation Standard 50 (NSF 50) (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2014c). Commonly tested microorganisms include E. coli, total coliforms, heterotrophic plate count bacteria, P. aeruginosa, and S. aureus (Environmental Protection Agency, 2016; World Health Organization, 2006). The two generally used methods for microbiological testing of water are the Most Probable Number (MPN) technique also referred to as Multiple Tube Fermentation (MTF) and the Membrane Filtration (MF) technique (World Health Organization, 1996).
