Visiting Scholars Sample Clauses

Visiting Scholars status as a Visiting Scholar of University is a privilege granted solely at the discretion of the University, and may be revoked by the University at any time, for any reason or no reason, by providing the Visiting Scholar with written notice of revocation and, if revocation is not immediate, specifying the effective date of such revocation. If the University revokes the Visiting Scholar’s status, then this Agreement shall terminate effective on the date on which the Visiting Scholar’s status terminates. In addition to the University’s right to revoke the Visiting Scholar’s status, either Party may terminate this Agreement at any time by providing prior written notice to the other Party. Upon termination or expiration of this Agreement, Visiting Scholar agrees to return all University property, including, but not limited to, any identification cards, access cards, or keys assigned to Visiting Scholar during the Visit. Notwithstanding expiration or termination of this Agreement, Articles 5, 6, 7, 8, and 10 shall survive.

Visiting Scholars. The Parties agree that university education is normally best provided by the employees who are fully engaged in all aspects of teaching, research, and service. However, the Parties agree that it can be beneficial to students, faculty and the University to engage visiting scholars; The Parties agree that, subject to the provisions of the collective agreement between the University and AUNBT for Full-Time (Group 1) academic employees, and notwithstanding Article 18A of this Agreement, the University may appoint Visiting Scholars to deliver undergraduate or graduate courses. Visiting Scholars. If your visitor plans to enroll in UWM courses and wishes to pursue a degree, please contact international admissions. Immigration regulations mandate that U.S. universities sponsoring international scholars report exchange visitor information via the Department of Homeland Security's Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). CIE must report to SEVIS the exchange visitor’s arrival at UWM within 30 days of the scholar’s program start date, the exchange visitor’s U.S. address/phone, as well as any material changes to the scholar's academic program at UWM. Each department sponsoring a J-1 visiting scholar is responsible for the following: • Providing a MINIMUM of 4 months lead time in preparing paperwork for new visiting scholars. (Note: departments should be aware that lengthy in visa processing and security checks can mean that 6 months or more may be necessary to secure a J-1 visa and arrive at UWM.) • Assessing and documenting whether the scholar has sufficient English proficiency for her/his academic program & daily life in the U.S. • Ensuring completeness and accuracy of the information provided on the DS-2019 Request Form. • Informing CIE immediately if the scholar changes plans, decides to arrive earlier or later than stated on the DS-2019 form, or cancels their proposed visit to UWM. • If the scholar cannot arrive in the U.S. & report to CIE within 30 days of the DS-2019 program start date, you must contact CIE before the 30TH day. • Ensuring the scholar’s prompt check-in (within 3 days of arrival) in Xxxxxxx Xxxx room 138 and mandatory attendance for CIE J-1 visa orientation. • Providing academic and logistical support to the scholar during their research/teaching at UWM. • Providing the scholar & any dependents opportunities for cultural exchange. • Informing CIE about any incidental employment the scholar wishes to engage in so that CIE may authorize any permitted employment in advance of the activity. • Communicating immediately with CIE regarding information about the scholar’s appointment at UWM: the arrival, departure and/or termination of the scholar from UWM, changes in the scholar’s work site, and any material change in the scholar’s appointment. • Submitting extension requests to CIE at least one month before the expiration date of a current scholar’s DS-2019. Visiting Scholars. 8.1. Visiting scholars are academics or practitioners who participate in teaching in the EACH programme on a temporary basis (1-8 weeks). Visiting scholars are welcome in the following areas: new directions and developments in analytical chemistry; analytical chemistry and metrology in chemistry; guideline materials on QA in analytical chemistry; metrological and quality aspects of analytical chemistry; food analysis and nutrition, QA in food analysis; environmental analysis with atomic mass spectrometry, isotope methods; environmental analysis; occupational analysis and forensic analysis.
Visiting Scholars.  Visiting scholars may have the approval of the host institution to visit it during a short period for the purpose of research, consulting and short-term teaching, subject to prior negotiation.  Travel and living expenses for visiting scholars are not normally paid by the host institution, unless specific arrangements are made and agreed to in advance.  The host institution will provide an institutional appointment and library access.  Visiting scholars must carry medical health insurance that meets the requirements of the host institution.
Visiting Scholars. Each partner can suggest suitable scholars to the Programme Steering Committee along with the contribution to the curriculum they would bring and the curriculum module it would best fit in. The PSC will approve (possibly with suggested modifications) or reject the suggestion. The MB implements the practical aspects of the visiting scholar, after which a specific programme for the scholar is established between the host institution and the scholar directly. The scholar will be integrated within the department organising the AquaH programme at the hosting university. For every scholar mobility, a scholar agreement is signed between the scholar and the AquaH consortium. All visiting scholars will be expected to edit a visiting scholar report for the MB, in which findings and activities are specified. It is the task of the AquaH coordination secretariat to collect the reports and present them to the MB. If available, scholarships will be granted to visiting scholars, these will be handled by the AquaH PS and the LS of the hosting partner institution, in accordance with the rules and stipulations of the granter of the scholarship.

  • Training Program It is agreed that there shall be an Apprenticeship Training Program, the provisions of which are set forth in Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto and forms part of this Agreement.

  • Scholarship A requirement for tenure or for promotion to any rank is evidence of scholarly activity and achievement, or creative work in the performing and fine arts, and recognition of one's work by academic peers. Evidence of scholarship or its equivalent includes:

  • Flexible Hours Upon the request of an employee and the concurrence of the Employer, an employee may work flexible hours on a daily basis so long as the daily hours amount to seven and one-half (71/2).

  • Teaching Load Full teaching assignments shall normally include 12 course credit hours of scheduled teaching per academic quarter. A reassignment of duty, for the equivalent of 3 or 4 credit course, shall be provided during one term of the first academic year to all newly hired tenure track faculty to further their teaching, scholarship and service and to encourage faculty retention. Wherever possible the University will endeavor to arrange teaching schedules that avoid excessive numbers of preparations and recognize evening and/or off-campus assignments. Class sizes will be established and monitored by the appropriate academic xxxx in consultation with division chairs and affected faculty each term.
