Varnish Sample Clauses
Varnish. Part of the MEMORI project has focused on investigating the effect of organic pollutants (acetic and formic acid) on varnishes. This investigation was performed by the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry, University of Pisa, and the Thermal Methods and Conservation Science Centre at Birkbeck, University of London. Experiments were based on the following varnishes, dammar, resin mastic, Regalrez 1094, Laropal A81 and dammar with a coating of Regalrez 1094. For all the varnishes studied damage has been observed, from the chemical and physical point of view. Natural resins dammar and mastic showed oxidation under exposure to organic acids (Figure 11).
Varnish a clear or semi-transparent wood coating, excluding lacquers and shellacs, formulated to dry by chemical reaction on exposure to air. Varnishes may contain small amounts of pigment to color a surface, or to control the final sheen or gloss of the finish. Vinyl/Fabric/Leather/Polycarbonate coating – a coating designed and whose label states the product’s purpose is exclusively to coat vinyl, fabric, leather, or polycarbonate substrates. VOC composite partial vapor pressure – as applied to offset lithography or letterpress printing operations subject to the requirements of § 716, the sum of the partial pressure of the compounds defined as VOCs. VOC composite partial vapor pressure is calculated as defined in § 716.8(a). VOC content – is the following:
Varnish. This is used to polish wooden furniture, and thus protect it from termites.
Varnish. Varnish shall be a homogeneous solution of resin, drying oil, drier and solvent. It shall be extremely durable clear coating, highly resistant to wear and tear without cracking, peeling, whitening, spotting, etc. with minimum loss of gloss for a maximum period of time.
