Variable-Source Crosswalk Clause Samples

A Variable-Source Crosswalk clause defines how different data sources or variables are mapped or correlated within a contract or agreement. In practice, this clause specifies which data points from various systems or documents correspond to each other, ensuring that all parties interpret references to data consistently. For example, it might clarify that a term like "Net Revenue" in one report is equivalent to "Total Sales" in another. The core function of this clause is to eliminate confusion and discrepancies by standardizing terminology and data references across multiple sources, thereby ensuring clarity and reducing the risk of misinterpretation.
Variable-Source Crosswalk. Variables were derived from the HC survey questionnaire or from the CAPI. The source of each variable is identified in Section D “Variable - Source Crosswalk” in one of four ways: 1. Variables derived from CAPI or assigned in sampling are so indicated as “CAPI derived” or “Assigned in sampling,” respectively; 2. Variables which come from one or more specific questions have those questionnaire sections and question numbers indicated in the “Source” column; questionnaire sections are identified as: EV – Event Roster section FF – Flat Fee section CP – Charge Payment section 3. Variables constructed from multiple questions using complex algorithms are labeled “Constructed” in the “Source” column; and 4. Variables that have been edited or imputed are so indicated.
Variable-Source Crosswalk. Variables were derived either from the HC questionnaire itself, the MPC data collection instrument, or from the CAPI. The source of each variable is identified in Section D “Variable - Source Crosswalk” in one of four ways: 1. Variables derived from CAPI or assigned in sampling are so indicated as “CAPI derived” or “Assigned in sampling,” respectively; 2. Variables which come from one or more specific questions have those questionnaire sections and question numbers indicated in the “Source” column; questionnaire sections are identified as: • EV – Event Roster section • HH – Home Health Event section • CP – Charge Payment section 3. Variables constructed from multiple questions using complex algorithms are labeled “Constructed” in the “Source” column; and 4. Variables that have been edited or imputed are so indicated.
Variable-Source Crosswalk. Variables contained on Files 1 and 2 were either derived from the HC questionnaire itself, derived from the MPC data collection instrument, derived from the CAPI, or assigned in sampling. The source of each variable is identified in Section E, entitled “Variable - Source Crosswalk.” Sources for each variable are indicated in one of four ways in the Source Column: (1) variables which are derived from CAPI or assigned in sampling are indicated as “CAPI derived” or “Assigned in sampling,” respectively; (2) variables which come from one or more specific questions have those questionnaire sections and question numbers indicated such that, (3) variables constructed from multiple questions using complex algorithms are labeled “Constructed”; and (4) variables which have been edited or imputed are so indicated.
