Value Engineering Tasks Clause Samples
The Value Engineering Tasks clause outlines the requirements and procedures for identifying and implementing cost-saving or efficiency-improving modifications to a project without compromising quality or performance. Typically, this clause specifies that the contractor or consultant must review project plans and suggest alternative materials, methods, or designs that could reduce costs or enhance value. For example, it may require periodic submissions of value engineering proposals for review and approval by the client. The core function of this clause is to encourage innovation and cost-effectiveness, ensuring that the project delivers maximum value for money while maintaining the desired standards.
Value Engineering Tasks. If the Estimate of Cost of the Work at this phase exceeds the Construction Budget for the Project, the Architect shall recommend to Owner items of possible cost reduction to the scope of the Project or substitution of alternative materials, systems or procedures to bring the Schematic Design within Construction Budget. The Owner may choose to adopt a modification of the Construction Budget at this time, but this shall be done in writing. After Owner’s written approval of these cost reductions, they will be incorporated into the design development phase.
