Using Vacation Clause Samples

The 'Using Vacation' clause defines how employees may take their accrued vacation time. It typically outlines the process for requesting vacation, any advance notice requirements, and any restrictions on when vacation can be taken, such as blackout periods or limits during busy seasons. This clause ensures both employees and employers have clear expectations regarding time off, helping to prevent scheduling conflicts and misunderstandings.
Using Vacation. Unit Members shall be employed by the City for one (1) complete year prior to using any vacation. However, in unusual circumstances the Fire Chief’s Office may approve use of vacation time prior to the unit member completing one (1) complete year with the City.
Using Vacation. The first opportunity for hours to become earned is after six months of employment. From that point forward, vacation will accrue and become earned based on annual seniority dates from the employee's date of hire.
Using Vacation. Vacation hours earned in the first full calendar year of employment shall be taken in the succeeding calendar year.
