Using Information. All information collected by, and provided to, Royal Bank may be used and disclosed for the following purposes: (i) to verify the Customer’s identity and investigate its background; (ii) to open and operate Accounts or provide other Services or OPS; (iii) to understand the Customer’s financial situation; (iv) to determine, and make decisions about, the eligibility of the Customer or the Customer’s affiliates for the Services or OPS; (v) to help Royal Bank better understand the current and future needs of Royal Bank’s clients; (vi) to communicate to the Customer any benefit, feature, or other information about the Services or OPS; (vii) to help Royal Bank better manage its business and its relationship with the Customer; (viii) to maintain the accuracy and integrity of information held by a credit reporting agency; and (ix) as required or permitted by Applicable Laws. For these purposes, Royal Bank may: (x) share the information with other Persons, including Royal Bank Representatives, Regulatory Authorities, and Persons the Customer requests; (xi) share the information with other financial institutions, and Persons with whom the Customer has financial or other business dealings, and (xii) give credit, financial, and other related information to credit reporting agencies, who may share it with other Persons. In the event information is used or shared in a jurisdiction outside of Canada, the information will be subject to, and may be disclosed in accordance with, the laws of such jurisdiction. Royal Bank may also use the information and share it with its affiliates to: (xiii) manage its risks and operations and those of its affiliates; (xiv) comply with valid requests for information from Regulatory Authorities or other Persons who have a right to issue such requests; and (xv) let its affiliates know the Customer’s choices under Section 10.3 for the sole purpose of honouring the Customer’s choices. If Royal Bank has the Customer’s social insurance number, it may be used for tax related purposes and shared with appropriate government agencies, and may also be shared with credit reporting agencies for identification purposes.
