The Unit Dues clause establishes the obligation of individual unit owners or members to pay regular dues or assessments to a governing association or organization. Unit Dues. The City shall deduct and remit monthly to the Unit, dues required of such employees as certified by a duly authorized representative of the Unit, provided such deduction is authorized in writing by the individual employee. Such deduction shall continue unless written notice of cancellation is given to the City. The City shall have no liability to collect Unit dues for any month in which the employee, in his last full pay period, receives, after legal deductions, pay less than the amount of such dues. In addition, the Unit shall defend, indemnify and save the City harmless from any liability resulting from any and all claims, demands, suits or other action arising from compliance with this Article.
