Union Steward. A. The Employer recognizes the Union's right to elect or appoint Union Stewards on all shifts for the purpose of monitoring this Agreement and representing employees in attempts to resolve all problems or disputes before they are referred to the grievance procedure. The Union shall notify the Employer, in writing, and with at least ten (10) days notice, as to who the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and alternates may be in each location.
B. The employee may request the presence of a Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ when being suspended or terminated. The Employer must grant such request except when circumstances are such that require immediate action. In the absence of the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, the employee may request the presence of another employee.
Union Steward. A. The Union shall appoint one ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇, but the stewards’ duties for the Union shall in no way conflict with their duties for the Employer.
B. Up to forty (40) hours of paid leave per year may be used by the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ in the performance of his duties regarding the application and enforcement of this Agreement or for participation in authorized union activities. Release time for this purpose should be coordinated with the Superintendent of Public Works.
Union Steward. I. The Business Representative of the Union may appoint Stewards, whose duty it shall be to see that the conditions of this contract are observed by either the Employer or the members of the Union or their representatives. In slack season he shall be the last employee to be laid off, providing he is qualified in the judgment of the Employer, and under no condition shall he be discriminated against because of his position as ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. Under no condition, excluding drug and alcohol abuse, shall the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ be discharged until the Business Representative has been given twenty-four (24) hours notice. Union Steward a. The Union reserves the right to designate a Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and an Alternate Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
b. The Union shall notify the Employer of the identity of the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
c. The Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall be empowered to discuss and investigate the adjustment ofproblems and grievances with the Employer.
d. On commencement of employment, the Emp1oyee's immediate Supervisor will make every effort at the earliest possible time to introduce the new Employee to his/her Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
e. In the event the person designated as the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ is absent, the Union's designated Alternate ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ can act in place of the designated Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇.
