Common use of Underground Services Clause in Contracts

Underground Services. for loss of, destruction of or damage to cables, pipes or other services located underground unless you have: a) taken or caused to be taken all reasonable measures to identify the location of such cables, pipes and services before any work is commenced which may involve a risk of damage thereto (reasonable measures include contacting the appropriate authorities where it is possible cables, pipes or services are under the site); b) retained a written record of the measures which were taken to locate such cables, pipes or other services; c) conveyed the location of such cables, pipes and services to employees or others who are carrying out such work on your behalf;
