Unassigned Regulars Clause Samples

The "Unassigned Regulars" clause defines how employees or individuals who are considered regulars but have not been assigned to a specific role, shift, or duty are managed within an organization or agreement. Typically, this clause outlines the process for assigning work, the rights and obligations of unassigned regulars, and any limitations on their status, such as eligibility for certain benefits or priority for future assignments. Its core practical function is to ensure clarity and fairness in the treatment of regular personnel who are temporarily without a specific assignment, preventing disputes and maintaining operational flexibility.
Unassigned Regulars. An unassigned full-time regular employee should bid on duty assignments posted for bids for which the employee is qualified. If the employee does not bid, or is the unsuccessful bidder, such employee shall be assigned in any residual assignment. The employee’s preference will be honored if there is more than one assignment available for which he/she is qualified.
