The UDC loop is intended to be compatible with IDSL service and has the same physical characteristics and transmission specifications as BellSouth’s ISDN- capable loop. These specifications are listed in BellSouth’s TR73600. 2.1.2.2.2.2 Like the ISDN-capable loop, the UDC may be provisioned on copper or through a DLC system. However, when UDCs are provisioned using a DLC system, BellSouth will ensure that they are only provisioned on time slots that are compatible with data-only services such as IDSL.

This is a designed loop that is provisioned according to Carrier Serving Area (CSA) criteria and my be up to 12, 000 feet long and may have up to 2,500 feet of bridged tap (inclusive of loop length). It may be a 2-wire or 4-wire circuit and will come standard with a test point, Order Coordination, and a DLR.
