Training Periods. 21.1 Each member covered by this Agreement may be required from time to time, to attend training periods in addition to their regular tour of duty, not to exceed in all four (4) hours in any one month, such time shall not be accumulative and shall be defined as overtime and paid for accordingly. No member shall be required to attend a training period while on rest days, statutory or annual leave.

MOTORCYCLE ALLOWANCE Each member covered by this Agreement who required to operate a motorcycle shall an allowance of thirty-one and three tenths cents per hour in addition to their regular salary during such time assigned to motorcycle duty. MEAL ALLOWANCE I ‘ Each member covered by this Agreement who works eleven continuous hours, shall be granted a meal allowance of ten dollars ($10.00). Where a member works more than eleven continuous hours, further payments of meal allowance shall be at the discretion of the Chief of Police or designee. Each member when assigned to work in an area in which, by reason of isolation, the amenities of life are denied, shall be provided with a meal or meal allowance of ten dollars ($10.00) in lieu thereof. Each member, when assigned to work out of his or her jurisdiction for a period of more than four hours, shall be granted a meal allowance of ten dollars Payment of such meal allowance shall be on a basis.

The calculation shall be for hours worked in the quarter over hours times 1/4 times the number of vacation days entitled to in the year. The employee’s entitlement shall not exceed 100% of the entitled vacation days. Any part days shall be rounded up to a full day for determination of entitlement. In the event the vacation entitlement shall not be less than two weeks (10) days for employees with greater than one (1) year seniority. This calculation shall be done each quarter and the vacation entitlement shall be on a calendar basis. For example; An employee in the year 2000 worked the following hours. 450 in the first quarter 300 in the second quarter 350 in the thirds quarter 200 in the fourth quarter The employee is entitled to four weeks vacation (based on his seniority). 1st quarter – 450/450x 1/4 x 20 days = 5 days 2nd quarter – 300/450x 1/4 x 20 days = 4 days 3rd quarter – 350/450x 1/4 x 20 days = 4 days 4th quarter – 200/450x 1/4 x 20 days = 3 days Total pro-rated vacation entitlement for the year = 16 days Dated this day of , 2004.
