Trainee Union Representatives. The Corporation will grant leave of absence to an employee requested by the Union to serve as a Trainee Union Representative, in accordance with the foregoing paragraph, subject to the following conditions: - the timing of the leave will be subject to departmental operating considerations; - the period of absence will not exceed four (4) continuous months, unless otherwise agreed by the corporation; - only one (1) such leave will be granted in a twelve (12) month period; - in situations where the Trainee is assigned to the ICBC bargaining unit, she/he will work under the direction of a full-time union representative - who is also regularly assigned to the ICBC bargaining unit - for the duration of the trainee appointment.
