Time Outside the Bargaining Unit. An employee who is in the bargaining unit but who then transfers to a position with the employer outside the bargaining unit for a continuous period of employment, and subsequently returns to the bargaining unit shall have his seniority bridged i.e. credit for seniority accrued previously in the bargaining unit but not for subsequent continuous service outside the bargaining unit.
