Common use of Termination of Account Clause in Contracts

Termination of Account. The Credit Union may terminate your account at any time without notice to you or may require you to close your account and apply for a new account if: (a) there is a change in owners or authorized signers, (b) there has been a forgery or fraud reported or committed involving your account, (c) there is a dispute as to the ownership of the funds in the account, (d) any account checks are lost or stolen, (e) if there are excessive returned unpaid items not covered by an overdraft plan, or (f) if there has been any misrepresentation or any other abuse of any of your accounts, (g) we reasonably deem it necessary to prevent a loss to us, or (h) if you engage in any activity of betting or wagering or are otherwise engaged in any internet gambling business, or any owner or authorized user causes the Credit Union to suffer a loss. You may terminate your account at any time by notifying the Credit Union by oral direction or in writing. The Credit Union is not responsible for payment of any check, withdrawal, or other item once your account is terminated; however, if the Credit Union pays a check after termination, you agree to reimburse the Credit Union for payment.
