Temporary Pavement Sample Clauses
The Temporary Pavement clause outlines the requirements for installing provisional road surfaces during construction projects. It typically specifies the materials, thickness, and maintenance standards for these temporary surfaces to ensure safe and functional access for vehicles and pedestrians while permanent pavement is being constructed or repaired. This clause ensures that disruptions to traffic and site accessibility are minimized, maintaining safety and usability throughout the construction period.
Temporary Pavement. Temporary pavements shall be designed to accommodate the anticipated traffic loading that the pavement will experience during the construction period. Temporary pavement should be engineered using the standards and procedures for new construction. Temporary pavement shall meet the performance requirements included in Section 11.2 of these Technical Provisions.
Temporary Pavement. Centerline and Lane Marking Unless otherwise specified, install temporary pavement marking as follows:
1. Provide 4-inch wide pavement marking (line) for center, edge, lane and barrier lines as shown on the Plans for projects that will have traffic maintained overnight. For temporary pavement line markings (line) on intermediate layers of pavement, use reflective tape, reflectorized paint, and raised pavement markers, or a combination thereof as shown on the Plans or as required by the Engineer, and install meeting 716, 910.02, 919.04, or Department’s QPL at the end of each day’s ▇▇▇▇.▇▇ permanent standards before dark hours. Short, unmarked sections will not be allowed. The Department will measure and pay for these markings as Painted Pavement Marking (Line) in accordance with 716.08 and 716.09. Preserve established no-passing zones, if any, on the existing pavement; if no-passing zones have not previously been established, establish them before beginning the work. Mark two- lane, two-way highways with 10-foot long center lines applied on 40-foot centers and appropriate no- passing barrier lines. INFORMATION
2. When required, provide temporary pavement markings at intersections for temporary pavement markings on intermediate layers of pavement. The Department will require temporary intersection pavement markings to be reflectorized paint, or removable pavement marking meeting 716, 910.02, 919.04, and or Department’s QPL. ONLY
Temporary Pavement. Temporary pavement restoration shall be installed as directed. Temporary paving on will be made at the end of each work day. Payment will be made at the contract unit price per square yard of temporary pavement installed.
1. Temporary pavement shall be three (3) inches compacted of HMA Base Course. All temporary pavement will be rolled in place, the mounding of material in the trench line for the traffic to smooth will not be acceptable.
2. Maximum pay width shall be seven (6) feet for water mains.
3. Payment shall be made on the actual number of square yards installed not to exceed the limits stated above.
4. Unit price shall include all costs associated with the maintenance of the temporary pavement.
5. Unit price shall include all necessary temporary line painting as required.
6. Temporary paving shall be placed at the end of each working day.
Temporary Pavement. All streets and driveways cut by the Contractor shall be provided with temporary pavement on the same day that the original pavement is cut. In general, streets shall be provided with temporary pavement, except as herein modified. Private driveways shall be temporarily replaced with a minimum of 8 inches of crushed stone or gravel.
