TECHNICAL EMPLOYEES TECHNICIAN - Pay Point. 1 (i) understanding of the use of tools and the pouring of models, and trimming; (ii) understanding and fabrication of simple removable and fixed appliances; (iii) understanding, fabrication and use of acrylic materials and simple fixed (soldered or non-soldered) appliances; (iv) knowledge of occupational health and safety principles; (v) identification of surgery equipment and instruments; (vi) understanding of dento/legal and medico/legal requirements for dental technicians as prescribed under State law. Work independently and be able to fabricate simple, removable and fixed appliances. Shall mean a Technician having had on the job experience specified in Pay Point 1 and achieved proficiency in the specified skills; Work independently and be able to fabricate complex removable and fixed appliances. Possess an understanding of the basics of model set up with understanding and application of clinical consideration. Shall mean a Technician having had on the job experience specified in Pay Point 2 and achieved proficiency in the specified skills. Work independently and possess a very good understanding of clinical requirements including fabrication of model set ups and arch form requirements - model set ups to demonstration standards. Manage a technical laboratory to meet agreed production levels (including inventory/ordering). Supervise trainees and/or Technicians at Pay Point 1 & Pay Point 2. Patient contact as required.
