Technical Assistance Activity. This Activity will provide training and capacity building for the DOR and RBN. Compact funding will support training and capacity building for DOR and RBN, as applicable, in the areas of: 1) improved data collection and techniques; 2) preparation of appropriate road maintenance plans driven by economic justification; 3) improved prioritization of periodic maintenance; 4) improved contracting and contracting management, including integration of improved road safety features; and 5) improved project management. The training and capacity-building provided will also entail the transfer of modern road maintenance methods, technologies, and business processes under this Activity.
Technical Assistance Activity. MCC Funding will be used to provide technical assistance to improve road maintenance. Specifically, MCC Funding will support:
(i) Capacity building in the Government’s Department of Roads;
(ii) Improvements in the operation of state-owned enterprises involved in roads maintenance to ensure long-term viability and quality of their work; and
(iii) Introduction of policies, procedures and practices that will encourage private sector participation in road maintenance.
