Taxicab Service Sample Clauses
Taxicab Service. The Contractor shall establish and operate a taxicab service, providing service to/from the Airport to/from other points within the Washington SMSA. Unless otherwise provided in this Contract, the Contractor shall not deny for any reason, service to any passenger requesting taxicab service within the Washington SMSA. This service shall be operated consistent with the requirements of this Contract to meet the transportation requirements of airline passengers and their accompanying baggage. The On-Demand Taxicab Service shall be provided by two (2) taxicab concession contractors that will each supply a minimum of 275 and a maximum of 300 taxicabs that are dedicated full-time to provide taxicab passenger service to and from the Airport. At no time shall a taxicab from the Contractor’s fleet provide taxicab service to a passenger who does not begin or end their trip at the Airport. These two taxicab concession contractors are referred to herein as the “On-Demand Taxicab Service contractors”.
1. During periods of high passenger demand and/or low supply of taxicabs, the Contractor shall ensure that its taxicabs provide a minimum of forty five percent (45%) of total daily outbound taxicab trips dispatched from the Taxicab Terminal Loading Area Premises at the Airport. At all other times, the Contractor shall make every effort in achieving a goal of providing fifty percent (50%) of total daily outbound taxicab trips.
2. At all times during the term of this Contract or any Option Periods, the Contractor shall be completely independent from the other On-Demand Taxicab Service contractor and from the Authority’s taxicab dispatch contractor at Dulles Airport as provided in Article XI.B.
3. The Contractor shall conduct its activities under the Contract in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.
4. Taxicab service to the Airport, shall be provided by the Contractor at its own cost and expense, and comply with the following requirements as well as all other requirements of this Contract:
a. Comply with the Authority’s procedures for acceptance of trips requested through the Airport’s inbound reservation system or other reservation system authorized by the Authority.
b. Establish and operate a taxicab dispatch and control system as described in the portion of its proposal attached to this contract as Exhibit A, using personnel who are trained to provide for the effective and efficient dispatch of taxicabs.
