Tank Baffling Sample Clauses
The Tank Baffling clause sets requirements for the installation of internal baffles within tanks to control the movement of liquids. In practice, this clause typically specifies the design, placement, and material standards for baffles to minimize liquid surge and improve stability, especially in transport or storage tanks. By mandating proper baffling, the clause helps prevent safety hazards such as sloshing, which can affect vehicle handling or structural integrity, thereby ensuring safer operation and compliance with industry standards.

Engines and water tenders shall have the water tank baffled in a manner that conforms to the NFPA Standards for Mobile Water Supply Apparatus, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers standards, or other industry-accepted engineering standards.
