Tachometers a. The tachometers currently installed on the overland conveyors will remain as is. Should the Contractor move or disconnect these devices to complete the Works they will be fully re- installed, terminated and commissioned such that their “As-is” operation and function are not affected by the Works. b. The Contractor installs two new tachometers (in addition to the speed switches that form part of the protection system), one on each of the Tippler take-out conveyors, and interfaces these devices directly to the DCS. These devices are used for monitoring and protection on the DCS itself so that the Outside Plant Operator can be warned about a belt speed or slip problem before the HECU trips the belt. c. The Contractor designs and implements the control logic and HMI changes required to enable this function (see section d). d. All tachometers have an output of 4 to 20 mA.
