System Protection Facilities. The Interconnection Customer shall, at its expense, install, operate and maintain System Protection Facilities as a part of the Large Generating Facility or the Interconnection Customer’s Interconnection Facilities. The Participating TO shall install at the Interconnection Customer's expense any System Protection Facilities that may be required on the Participating TO’s Interconnection Facilities or the Participating TO’s Transmission System as a result of the interconnection of the Large Generating Facility and the Interconnection Customer’s Interconnection Facilities.

System Protection Facilities. Developer shall, at its expense, install, operate and maintain System Protection Facilities as a part of the Large Generating Facility or Developer Attachment Facilities. Connecting Transmission Owner shall install at Developer’s expense any System Protection Facilities that may be required on the Connecting Transmission Owner Attachment Facilities or the New York State Transmission System as a result of the interconnection of the Large Generating Facility and Developer Attachment Facilities.
System Protection Facilities. The equipment required to protect (i) the Transmission System, other delivery systems and/or other generating systems connected to the Transmission System from faults or other electrical disturbance occurring at or on the Customer Facility, and (ii) the Customer Facility from faults or other electrical system disturbance occurring on the Transmission System or on other delivery systems and/or other generating systems to which the Transmission System is directly or indirectly connected. System Protection Facilities shall include such protective and regulating devices as are identified in the Applicable Technical Requirements and Standards or that are required by Applicable Laws and Regulations or other Applicable Standards, or as are otherwise necessary to protect personnel and equipment and to minimize deleterious effects to the Transmission System arising from the Customer Facility.
System Protection Facilities. Interconnection Customer shall, at its expense, install, operate and maintain System Protection Facilities as a part of the Large Generating Facility or the Interconnection Customer’s Interconnection Facilities in accordance with the ISO New England Operating Documents, Applicable Reliability Standards, or successor documents. Interconnecting Transmission Owner shall install at Interconnection Customer’s expense, in accordance with the ISO New England Operating Documents, Applicable Reliability Standards, or successor documents, any System Protection Facilities that may be required on the Interconnecting Transmission Owner Interconnection Facilities or the New England Transmission System as a result of the interconnection of the Large Generating Facility and the Interconnection Customer’s Interconnection Facilities.
System Protection Facilities. TrAILCo shall install, operate and maintain, at its expense, any System Protection Facilities that may be required on TrAILCo’s facilities, including its System Upgrade Facilities, as a result of the interconnection of the Transmission Facility to the New York State Transmission System. NYSEG shall install at TrAILCo’s expense any System Protection Facilities that may be required on the NYSEG’s facilities, including its System Upgrade Facilities or the New York State Transmission System as a result of the interconnection of the Transmission Facility to the New York State Transmission System.

System Protection Facilities. Connecting Transmission Owner shall have installed System Protection Facilities at the terminal substations as a part of the Transmission Project. Connecting Transmission Owner shall install at Developer’s expense any System Protection Facilities that may be required on the Connecting Transmission Owner Attachment Facilities or the New York State Transmission System as a result of the interconnection of the Transmission Project.

Each Party's protective relay design shall incorporate the necessary test switches to perform the tests required in Article 6. The required test switches will be placed such that they allow operation of lockout relays while preventing breaker failure schemes from operating and causing unnecessary breaker operations and/or the tripping of Interconnection Customer's units. Each Party will test, operate and maintain System Protection Facilities in accordance with Good Utility Practice. Prior to the In-Service Date, and again prior to the Commercial Operation Date, each Party or its agent shall perform a complete calibration test and functional trip test of the System Protection Facilities. At intervals suggested by Good Utility Practice and following any apparent malfunction of the System Protection Facilities, each Party shall perform both calibration and functional trip tests of its System Protection Facilities. These tests do not require the tripping of any in-service generation unit. These tests do, however, require that all protective relays and lockout contacts be activated.

Connecting Transmission Owner shall install at Interconnection Customer’s expense any System Protection Facilities that may be required on the Connecting Transmission Owner’s Attachment Facilities or the New York State Transmission System as a result of the interconnection of the Large Generating Facility and Interconnection Customer’s Attachment Facilities.
