Common use of Superior - Subordinate Relationship Clause in Contracts

Superior - Subordinate Relationship. For the purpose of this section, a superior-subordinate relationship is defined as a relationship in which a classification has the responsibility for the direct supervision of another classification. In such a relationship, a superior shall be paid a monthly salary rate above his/her subordinates. When a subordinate’s monthly salary rate is equal to or exceeds that which is being paid to his/her superior, the superior shall receive a special adjustment of 3% above the salary of the highest paid subordinate. At any time the superior’s base salary (excluding this salary adjustment) exceeds the base salary of his/her subordinates, the salary adjustment granted to him by this section shall be eliminated.
