SUBSTANTIVE PROVISION Clause Samples
A substantive provision is a clause in a contract or legal document that establishes the main rights, obligations, or duties of the parties involved. It typically sets out the core terms of the agreement, such as payment terms, delivery requirements, or performance standards, and specifies what each party is required to do or refrain from doing. By clearly defining these essential elements, a substantive provision ensures that the parties understand their primary responsibilities and helps prevent disputes by providing a concrete framework for the contractual relationship.
