Structural Integrity. The PCMS housing shall be designed and constructed to withstand a minimum sustained wind load of 65 mph (105kph) in transport mode, and shall meet NEMA TS-4 requirements in operational mode (72 mph minimum overturning wind; 100 mph minimum destruction wind). The PCMS housing shall support a front face ice load of 4 pounds per square foot (19.5 kg per square meter). The PCMS housing shall be designed and constructed to comply with all applicable sections of AASHTO Standard Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaries and Traffic Signals, Third Draft, March 1999, as well as the fatigue resistance requirements of NCHRP Report 412, Fatigue-Resistant Design of Cantilevered Signal, Sign, and Light Supports.
