Common use of String Rotation Clause in Contracts

String Rotation. Rotational seating will apply to the first and second violin sections and will involve all contracted players within each section up to but not including the first desk of each section. Non-contracted players will be seated at the discretion of the Music Director in consultation with the section principal. The rotation is to occur by program, but may be suspended if the Music Director and section principal agree that assigned seating is required for a particular program due to the nature of the repertoire involved. A seating plan will be distributed with the music prior to each season. Similar rotation may be applied to the ▇▇▇▇▇ and cello sections at the discretion of the Music Director in consultation with the section principal. The Personnel Manager must be informed thirty (30) days in advance of the season.
