Storage Facility. Contractor shall be responsible for the security of vehicles and property at the place of storage. As a minimum, a fenced or enclosed area, approved by the City, shall be provided. A minimum six-foot fence or enclosed area shall be provided for outside storage. The primary storage facility shall provide for a minimum of seventy-five (75) standard vehicle parking spaces; three additional parking spaces are to be in an enclosed in a locked building available for vehicles towed pursuant to this Agreement. The secondary storage facility must have a minimum of twenty-five (25) standard vehicle parking spaces. The primary storage facility shall be maintained in, and the towing service is to originate from within, a maximum distance of 10 miles from the geographic limits of the City of Union City. Contractor is responsible for the reasonable care, custody, and control of any property contained in towed or stored vehicles. Contractor shall not employ or allow any person to loiter around the storage facility or Contractor’s place of business that has been convicted of a crime of moral turpitude or convicted of a felony. Notwithstanding the above, vehicles towed by contractor pursuant to California Vehicle Code Section 22660 or Union City Municipal Code Chapter 7.12, shall be immediately stored by operator at the operator's primary storage facility or at a secondary yard located anywhere within Union City, Newark, Fremont, or Hayward city limits.
