State preference policy Clause Samples

A state preference policy clause outlines the preference or priority given to certain suppliers, contractors, or products based on state-specific criteria, such as local sourcing or minority-owned business status. In practice, this clause may require that bids from in-state companies or those meeting certain qualifications be favored during procurement processes, even if their offers are not the lowest. The core function of this clause is to promote local economic development or achieve policy goals by guiding purchasing decisions in favor of preferred entities.
