Staff Development and Training. 20.01 (a) The Employer encourages and promotes continuing education and the upgrading of qualification which enables the employee to do a better job and qualify for additional responsibilities.
Staff Development and Training. Staff development and training shall be at the discretion of the Director of Nutrition Services and shall be considered as mandatory when scheduled throughout the year. Mandatory staff development and training scheduled outside of the employee’s regular work day will be compensated at the appropriate rate as outlined in Articles 10 and 11. Employees required to attend such training shall be given at least two (2) weeks’ notice of the training.

Employees will be eligible to receive training that is offered. The Employer will pay all costs associated with the training including instructional time at straight time rates, course materials, and mileage.

The Career Centers will ensure in partnership with the MOU Partners to commit to the following staff development components: • Trainings – The Partners will conduct cross-training to staff on key aspects of work offered by partner agencies so that aligned and integrated services are provided to produce positive outcomes for customers. • Staff Presentations – The Partners will conduct presentations on their programs, services available, and activities available through the partner program at the meetings of other partners.
Staff Development and Training. It is recognized that an effective staff development program is necessary to provide continuing opportunities for the professional growth of certificated employees. Therefore, the District shall periodically survey certificated employees to determine staff development needs. Such surveying, planning, and implementing may be done with the assistance of the Association, other agencies, or colleges and universities. Staff development activities may include:
Staff Development and Training. In recognition of the benefits of having a highly trained and motivated staff, required training programs establishedby the School District for custodial employees shall be provided free of charge.

The Lead Agency is responsible for the training and development of its staff and shall require sub-contracted Case Management Organizations to conduct necessary and appropriate training and development of their staff, including training on determining client eligibility for federal funding per section 1.5.1.5.

To that end, the District may from time to time authorize employee development activities such as classroom observation or visitation, employee workshops and educational meetings. Release time of one day may be made available upon prior approval of the building administrator, subject to the availability of a substitute, to any employee who wishes to observe another classroom or attend a meeting or workshop. As part of the District’s existing late start schedule for professional development, one late start session per quarter will be used to enter grades and complete other end-of-quarter requirements. The Association President and Superintendent will meet in May to set the late start grading sessions.
