SRO TRAINING REQUIREMENTS. The SRO shall receive such training as is necessary to permit the SRO to effectively advance the District’s educational mission in the context of his or her duties as SRO. Training topics, goals, objectives, and attendance shall be determined jointly by representatives of the District and the Agency.
SRO TRAINING REQUIREMENTS. The SRO shall receive such training as is necessary to permit the SRO to effectively advance the District’s educational mission in the context of his or her duties as SRO. Training topics, goals, objectives, and attendance shall be determined jointly by representatives of the District and the Agency but will include at least the following SRO-specific training: • National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) Basic SRO Course; • NASRO Advanced SRO Course; and • MSP Teaching, Educating, and Mentoring (TEAM) School Liaison Program. The District shall pay for this SRO-specific training, and such expense shall be eligible for reimbursement under the grant program. The Agency shall be responsible for all other training of the SRO (e.g., law enforcement and public safety-related training, etc.) and the cost of such training. To the extent reasonably possible, mandatory Agency training for the SRO will be conducted at times that do not conflict with normal school schedules.
