A Special Purpose License is a contractual provision that grants permission to use certain intellectual property or resources for a narrowly defined, specific use or project. Typically, this license restricts the licensee to a particular field, timeframe, or application, such as using a patented technology solely for research or a software tool only within a designated product line. By clearly delineating the scope and limitations of use, the clause ensures that the licensor retains broader rights while enabling the licensee to pursue a targeted objective, thereby minimizing the risk of unauthorized or unintended exploitation.
Special Purpose License. Special Purpose Licenses may not be used for any production or commercial application unless designated as a Custom Use License (as defined in Section 6.d) and Your MPA states that the Custom Use License can be used for a production or commercial use application. License Metric limitations do not apply to Special Purpose Licenses unless designated as a Custom Use License and Your MPA states that the Custom Use License applies specific License Metric limitations.
Special Purpose License. If Your license is a Special Purpose License (see Section 6, below), then its term shall be as stated in Your Proof of Entitlement. If You have no Proof of Entitlement or if Your Proof of Entitlement fails to state a license term, then the term of Your Special Purpose License shall be up to a maximum of eight (8) weeks from the date that You first received the Software, whether via download unless otherwise specified in a separate written agreement which You may have entered into with Pulse Secure.
Special Purpose License. If Your license is a Special Purpose License (see Section 6 below), then the term shall be time-bound and expire on a specific date & time unless Your MPA states otherwise. If You have no Proof of Entitlement or if Your Proof of Entitlement fails to state a license term, then the term of Your license shall be 45 days from the date that You first install and run the Software, whether the Software was provided on the appliance or via download or otherwise.
