Special Assignment Increase. A special assignment increase may be granted (upon approval of the Assistant Director of Administrative Services/Human Resources) to an employee by an Appointing Authority provided that the employee is clearly performing specific duties above and beyond that required by his/her classification while not assigned or authorized to be filling a position out of classification. The Appointing Authority shall submit his/her recommendation and justification to the Assistant Director of Administrative Services/Human Resources for approval. The Assistant Director of Administrative Services/Human Resources will review the recommendation and determine whether it is warranted given the standards of this section. Said increase shall be 6% above the base salary paid to the employee. Annually a review by the Assistant Director of Administrative Services/Human Resources of the special assignment shall be made to determine if it is still warranted.
