SINGULAR, PLURAL CONSTRUCTION Clause Samples

The Singular, Plural Construction clause clarifies that words used in the singular form within a contract are also intended to include their plural forms, and vice versa. This means that if a term like "party" is used, it should be understood to refer to one or more parties as appropriate, depending on the context. By establishing this interpretive rule, the clause ensures consistency and prevents disputes over whether a provision applies to one or multiple entities, thereby promoting clarity and reducing ambiguity in contractual interpretation.
