The "Shift Positions" clause defines the rules and procedures for changing an employee's job role, work location, or shift schedule within an organization. Shift Positions a. Positions that are included on the rotating shift schedule:
1) System Operator
2) Assistant System Operator.
b. The Shift Cycle shall be twelve (12) weeks unless otherwise agreed between the parties, and with regulatory approval where required.
c. The Master Schedule shall be posted by October 1 for the next calendar year.
1) The Schedule shall be posted for all FCC Operators; and
2) shall show the days and hours of work, the scheduled days off, the Flex Weeks;
3) These posted hours and days of work shall constitute the regular hours of work for the employee.
d. The regular work week is based on forty (40) hours per week. During a shift cycle the work week will average forty

(1) These ANSI shift positions (a maximum of six positions: two per shift) shall be filled only by fully qualified Chemical and Radiation Protection Technicians.

Additional Shift Positions
(1) The Chemical & Radiation Protection Technicians assigned to these positions must be qualified for the assignment In no case shall the total number of technicians assigned to backshifts exceed 19. (Excluding the six Technicians under 2.a. herein.)
(2) The workweeks desaibed in 2.a. (2) or a Monday-Friday workweek schedule may be used when establishing these additional backshift positions.
(3) No more than eight of the remaining day-shift positions will be required to work a 10-4 schedule.

1) If an employee’s normal work week has averaged less than 40 hours over the shift cycle, the Company is entitled to recover this time during the next shift cycle.
2) If an employee owes time to the Company because of a scheduled change, but is called out to work on their day off, the time worked shall be paid at the overtime rate and not deducted from the time owed.
e. A Shift shall be twelve (12) hours and average forty (40) hours per week during the Shift Cycle.
f. The Work Week shall be from 0600hrs Monday to 0559hrs the following Monday.
g. The starting time of the rotating shift shall be arranged between:
1) Day Shift – 0600hrs and 0630hrs
2) Night Shift – 1800hrs and 1830hrs
3) Shift Overlap shall be built into the Master Schedule.
