Shift Arrangements. 6.13 If it is the intention of Management at any plant to institute night and/or graveyard shifts, the Management shall post, prior to commencement of processing, a schedule of the various alternative nights and/or graveyard shift arrangements contemplated during the season showing the precise regular hours (i.e. starting time, lunch period, quitting time) of all such contemplated shifts. The method to be used in determining the calendar day of night shifts shall also be posted. The first day of the week shall be Monday and first shift of the day shall be the day shift. Alternative shift arrangements and application of same shall be as follows:

Shift Arrangements. In the event the Company needs to change a shift arrangement the company will: First: call for volunteers to change If no volunteers come forward the Company will then select an appropriate employee, based on skills required. The award notice period of 7 days or 48 hours with agreement will be given and personal consideration will be taken into account.
Shift Arrangements. The Company will endeavour to advise SCEs of their schedule by giving the employee one (1) week notice. SCEs will not be allowed to bid on shift bids. SCEs will be required to provide the Company with their availability to work additional hours during the peak time of the year (i.e., Christmas, Easter, etc.). The Company will not incur overtime unless the SCE goes over their regular scheduled hours for that day (i.e., over eight (8) hour shift, ten (10) hour shift, etc.). It is understood that additional hours will be offered to SCEs in accordance with the procedures mentioned above prior to offering and awarding extra hours to regular full-time and part-time employees, with the exception of operational necessities. The Company will not incur overtime unless the SCE goes over their regular scheduled hours for the day (i.e., over eight (8) hour shift, ten (10) hour shift, etc.). This agreement shall be in effect for the Term of the Collective Agreement. This XXX can be cancelled by mutual agreement. The parties agree to meet the following ratification and prior to the development of the 2011 fall/winter shift schedule, to review the intent, application and administration of this Letter of Understanding, in order to address any concerns.
Shift Arrangements. In order to meet the needs of the Company it may be necessary to introduce different shift roster arrangements. If there is a need to introduce different shift arrangements, the shift roster may be changed in consultation with employees, enabling the plant to operate 5, 6 or 7 days per week The standard shift roster is five (5) days by eight (8) hours. All shifts will be required to work a minimum of 38 ordinary hours averaged plus additional reasonable hours per week. Other rosters can include but are not limited to the following, • 5 days 12 hours by 3 shifts • 6 days 12 hours by 3 shifts • 7 days 12 hours by 4 shifts • 4 days 12 hours by 2 shifts The company, through the current consultative mechanism, will keep employees advised of issues that impact on the business and may affect shift rosters in the steel ends operation. Where circumstances require a different roster the company and employees affected will discuss the necessary operational changes, with consideration given to some of the following criteria. • Types of shift rosters. • Cost impact of roster changes. • Minimisation of adverse effects. • Duration of any roster change. • Impact on customer service levels. • Impact on plant performance. Where an operational change to the roster is required a minimum of four (4) week's notice of shift roster changes will be provided.
