Common use of Severance Arrangements Clause in Contracts

Severance Arrangements. (a) In the event that an employee displaced from his/her job by virtue of technological change chooses not to take the vacancy or early retirement options of Article 13, pursuant to Clause 23.6, he/she shall notify the Employer of his/her intent, and shall be eligible for severance pay as outlined in Article 13. (b) In the event that an employee is not able to perfect or acquire the skills necessitated by the new method of operation, pursuant to Clause 23.5, the Employer shall give such employee a minimum of two (2) weeks' notice in writing of its intent to displace such employee.
