Settlement Allowance. a) The Board agrees to pay a settlement allowance of up to $1,200.00 for teachers commencing employment with this board who remain with the Board for two (2) full years of consecutive teaching. b) Allowable expenses will be those expenses reasonably incurred in moving and would include traveling, meals and accommodation in transit to new residence, crating, loading, shipping and delivery of personal effects. c) To be eligible for reimbursement the teacher must file original receipts in the Board office, within sixty (60) days of settlement, or within such further time as may be mutually agreed. d) If any teacher receives a settlement allowance payment and leaves the employ of the Board before one (1) full year of teaching, then the monies advanced in payment of any settlement allowance will be recovered by the Board from the final salary or other payment due the teacher. If any teacher receives a settlement payment and leaves the employ of the Board before two (2) full years of consecutive teaching, then half of the monies advanced in payment of any settlement allowance will be recovered by the Board from the final salary or other payment due the teacher. Prior to receiving the settlement allowance the teacher will sign an authorization to permit the Board to deduct the repayment from the teacher’s final pay, if the same should be necessary.

i) Effective September 1, 2019 the settlement allowance shall be up to $1212.00
ii) Effective September 1, 2020 the settlement allowance shall be up to $1224.12
iii) Effective September 1, 2021 the settlement allowance shall be up to $1236.36
