Common use of Service Time Clause in Contracts

Service Time. Where benefits are earned based on number of months worked (including but not limited to sick time, vacation time, personal leave time, holiday pay, uniform allowance, food allowance), computations of said benefits for a new employee shall be based on the employee's hire date relative to the fifteenth (15th) of the month. For example, a new employee hired on or before the 15th of the month shall have benefits calculated from the 1st of the month. A new employee hired after the 15th of the month shall have his benefits calculated from the 1st of the following month.
