Separate Contractor. Any person or entity other than Contractor that enters into an agreement with Owner to perform the construction of all or any portion of the construction on a Project.

Separate Contractor. Owner may select one or more Separate Contractors to perform work with respect to the Project or Components thereof. The Contractor shall afford the Owner's Separate Contractors reasonable opportunity for introduction and storage of their materials and equipment and performance of their activities and shall coordinate the Separate Contractors’ schedules with those of the Contractor. The Owner's Separate Contractors shall adhere to the Contractor's work rules, schedule, laydown areas, and safety requirements.

The term includes the Separate Contractor’s authorized representatives, successors, assigns, and subcontractors regardless of tier. Shop Drawings Drawings, diagrams, illustrations, and schedules specifically prepared for the Project provided by the Contractor or a Subcontractor to illustrate some portion of the Work. Shop Drawings are not Contract Documents.
